A work in movement <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Entitled Light Machine<\/em>, this work consists of a wall of light that illuminates the store’s atrium as much as it serves as a diffusion surface. Almost abstract images appear and are constantly renewed, offering visitors a new and ephemeral experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab In this space, a public and private place, a place for selling and passing through, my idea was to create a work that would be constantly renewed, both image and lighting. To achieve this, I adapted the Lights Machines, a series of works I’ve been making for several years. Enlarged to the scale of the site, it forms a wall of light that illuminates the atrium. Unlike the multiple screens in department stores, the Light Machine serves not only as a surface for displaying images, but also as a source of light. The ghostly images shown occupy a space between abstraction and figuration. This introduces a more poetic, dreamlike experience: I seek to revive the space of memory, that of an afterimage recognized as soon as it is discovered. \u00bb<\/em> Xavier Veilhan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The French visual artist, internationally renowned, studied at the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure des Arts D\u00e9coratifs in Paris (1982-1983), the Hochschule der K\u00fcnste in Berlin (with Georg Baselitz) and the Institut des Hautes \u00c9tudes en Arts Plastiques in Paris directed by Pontus Hulten (1989-1990).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
