For over a century, the famous Parisian department store has celebrated the festive season with memorable magical experiences and entertainment. To mark its 130th Christmas in 2024, Galeries Lafayette is gearing up to create more everlasting memories for its customers from Paris and beyond. Visitors can look forward to the most captivating and magical festive atmosphere ever. A fabulous way to wrap up the 130th year of Galeries Lafayette!
As part of this year’s show-stopping event, the store has invited rising young fashion star Kevin Germanier to apply his inimitable touch of ‘upcycled glamor’ to costume designs for the window display characters.
For Galeries Lafayette’s 130th Christmas, Kevin Germanier upcycled a lot of materials. He worked around the theme of light so that his circular energy shines throughout.
The source of inspiration for this project was the sourced materials but also light from the past, the present and the future. The common ground between Germanier and Galeries Lafayette is our drive, our innovation but also our respect for heritage.
As a Swiss citizen, Kevin Germanier visited the store as a child to see the displays and now he was able to create the window displays. So it’s really a young boy’s dream come true.

As part of its Christmas events, Galeries Lafayette is asking shoppers to make a donation to French charity Secours Populaire by rounding up at checkout on purchases made between 2 November and 31 December. Donations will be collected by the charity’s Green Father Christmases — teams of volunteers who also help out the “real” red-clad Father Christmases by organising parades and gift-wrapping fundraising at stores* across France. Galeries Lafayette is supporting this good cause to make sure there’s festive fun for everyone.
