It’s Always Burberry Weather

Inspired by over 165 years of innovation and craftsmanship, Burberry outerwear combines functionality, purpose, and a spirit of adventure.

Founded in 1856, Burberry is a pioneer in British outerwear, committed to protecting people from the weather.

The British climate profoundly influenced the approach of the brand’s founder, Thomas Burberry, along with his deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether providing everyday protection from the weather or outfitting pioneering explorers, Burberry’s coat legacy reflects a unique story. In October, the brand is launching a new global campaign that highlights its iconic and contemporary pieces.

It originates from an iconic slogan in the brand’s archives, emphasizing the durability of the clothing and the unpredictability of the British climate. Shot in London and the English countryside, this campaign unfolds through warm and humorous vignettes, remaining true to Burberry’s heritage and its connection to the outdoors.

Created by Burberry, the first trench coat was designed between 1914 and 1918 to meet the needs of military personnel. Every element of the trench coat was crafted with a specific purpose. This creation quickly gained recognition for its versatility and durability, establishing itself as a timeless British coat and a universal fashion icon. The trench evolves with new B-shaped hardware and exaggerated gun flaps, providing additional protection from the rain.
Crafted from fluid cotton gabardine, the iconic coat now features a lightweight lining for added comfort. The Harrington, a relaxed jacket and symbol of British subculture, is made from water-repellent gabardine, lined with Burberry’s iconic pattern used in its waterproof clothing since the 1920s.

The quilted jacket, a lasting emblem of the British countryside, is made from diamond-quilted nylon, lightly padded for warmth with insulating fibers. The collars, pockets, and cuffs are trimmed with corduroy. The puffer jacket, originally designed to shield people from extreme conditions, is crafted in functional, lightweight nylon. It features a hood and drawstring hem to keep warm. The style reverses from a solid color to Burberry’s signature pattern.

Pioneering explorers like Sir Ernest Shackleton wore Burberry gabardine for protection. Today, a parka is reimagined for the modern wearer, crafted from cotton canvas with a pointed hood trimmed in faux fur. Additionally, the aviator jacket, originally made for early 20th-century pilots, is updated in lamb shearling with adjustable elements and B-shaped zip pulls.

The duffle coat, a style originally worn by the British Royal Navy, is crafted for warmth in wool and cashmere. It features sculpted wooden toggles with a B-shaped crest—a new logo motif inspired by the Equestrian Knight design.
