Galeries Lafayette celebrates new perspectives

From 8 to 20 September 2026, on the occasion of Paris Design Week, Galeries Lafayette presents the first edition of SAVOIR FAIRE SAVOIR on the 2nd floor of Le Gourmet. Born from the Bourse des regards initiative, this ambitious project invites contemporary creators to immerse themselves in the department store's historical archives to design original objects.

The SAVOIR FAIRE SAVOIR Programme

Initiated by the Galeries Lafayette group through the Bourse des regards, the SAVOIR FAIRE SAVOIR programme reflects a commitment to promoting heritage and supporting contemporary creation. It aims to create a dialogue between the department store’s heritage and modern creation.

Each year, the programme brings together two generations of creators:

  • An emerging talent selected via a call for projects, who benefits from a one-year research residency within the historical archives (130 years of creation) to develop an original project.
  • Two established fashion and design artists, each invited to design a statement object enriching perspectives around the applied arts.

Each original creation explores one of three key pillars: Technique & Savoir-faire, Look & Inspiration, or Function & Reinterpretation. All pieces join the brand’s historical collection for long-term preservation.

Their creations will be presented and sold in limited editions at Lafayette Maison & Gourmet (€50-€550).

Call for Projects Winners (Applied Arts): Les Moires

Founded by Camille Gasser and Camille Mouchet, Les Moires is a textile design collective centering its approach on honoring heritage and reinterpreting traditional techniques.
The duo’s project MEUBLE-À-PORTER merges fashion and furniture to reinvent our connection with body and space. Drawing from Galeries Lafayette’s archives, the creators transform the historical store counter into a mobile, intimate object that can be worn.

Guest Artist (Fashion): Stéphanie D’heygere

A graduate of Antwerp’s Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Belgian designer Stéphanie D’heygere puts humor, conceptualism, and private poetry at the core of her vision by “accessorizing accessories” and subverting everyday objects.
Her project The Brush Clutch is a striking creation where reinterpreting Galeries Lafayette’s commercial archive gives rise to private poetry.

Guest Artists (Design): Döppel Studio

Founded in 2016 by Lionel Dinis-Salazar and Jonathan Omar, Döppel Studio is a Parisian design agency exploring the duality between function and fiction, rigor and sensitivity, through a totemic aesthetic and deep material research.
The Reflets project repurposes the porcelain service into an interior accessory: moving from table to wall, from service to image, where outdated ornamentation becomes a contemporary play.
