The Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a campaign organised every year to raise awareness of the need for early detection of breast cancer and to support research by raising funds. In partnership with the Ruban Rose association, Galeries Lafayette is stepping up its operations in support of the fight against breast cancer.

A tutorial on breast self-examination
Galeries Lafayette has collaborated with French illustrator Agathe Sorlet to create content aimed at raising awareness of breast self-exam. Recommended for all women, breast self-exam is a simple check-up to do on your own that can save lives.
Here’s a video showing the steps to follow.
Remember, however, that self breast-exam is not a substitute for regular check-ups with a health professional.
A word about our partner association: Ruban Rose
Ruban Rose is France’s first breast cancer awareness association, founded in 1994 by Estée Lauder Companies France and Marie Claire magazine.
The association has 2 missions:
- Raising awareness of early detection of breast cancer and the importance of regular check-ups by a doctor, gynaecologist or midwife.
- Supporting and funding research through the annual Pink Ribbon Awards given to targeted projects.
Supporting research through cash rounding up
From 1 to 31 October, Galeries Lafayette shops will be rounding up all the money collected at the checkout. All the funds raised will be donated to the Ruban Rose association to fund research. Find out more about the Ruban Rose association.
