The “Lightness Garden” Installation: An Ode to Creativity
Installed at the heart of the store, this creation serves as both a scenographic element and a visual landmark, embodying the spirit of Galeries Lafayette: creativity and dedicated attention to materials and gestures.
The textile artworks of artist Hui Hui draw inspiration from nature’s shapes and rhythms to reinterpret the organic elegance of life through the language of contemporary design. The textures and materials she selects and blends evoke the fluidity of water and the supple lines of flora.
Straddling textile craftsmanship and contemporary art, the exhibition highlights how nature has always inspired fashion’s silhouettes, volumes, and patterns. It invites visitors to explore a vision where design and the environment enter into dialogue, and where artisanal sensitivity meets technical innovation.
By welcoming Hui Hui to its Haussmann spaces, Galeries Lafayette reaffirms its historic role as a cultural bridge and a champion of emerging international talent.
Artist Profile: Hui Hui
“When Chinese Design Meets Nature”
A graduate of Donghua University in Shanghai and the University of Edinburgh, Hui Hui has been teaching in the ART & Fashion department at Donghua University in Shanghai since 2013.
In 2018, she founded her own creative hub, FutureLand Studio, combining contemporary art, design, and fashion. Her innovative approach has notably earned her collaborations with major international names, such as Stella McCartney for the design of a handbag.

Founded in 2010 by French philosopher, writer, and entrepreneur Christine Cayol (佳玥), Yishu 8 (Beijing Arts House) is a platform and incubator for Franco-Chinese artistic and cultural projects.
Supported by major sponsors such as Maison Boucheron (Kering Group) and Maison Hennessy (LVMH Group), Yishu 8 offers awards and exchange residency programs, enabling young French and Chinese artists and artisans to experience immersion, inspiration, and meaningful connections.
Located in Beijing within the historic walls of the former Sino-French University, the association is renowned for its cultural impact and organizes major prestigious exhibitions, such as the landmark retrospectives held at the Guimet Museum in Paris in 2022 and at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing in 2024.
