About La Maison des Femmes
La Maison des Femmes are care centers that support vulnerable women and victims of violence. Their mission is to offer faster, better-adapted, and holistic care to victims, to allow for a more effective, unique, and coordinated exit from violence.
A Few Key Figures Each Year in France:
- 10% of women are victims of domestic violence, representing approximately 213,000 women. Unfortunately, only 18% of domestic violence victims file a complaint.
- 94,000 adult women are victims of rape or attempted rape.
Actions and Care Units
La Maison des Femmes offers multidisciplinary care and is organized around three main care units:
- Domestic, intra-familial, and sexual violence (with global support).
- Sexual mutilation (with a team of professionals including surgeons trained for clitoral reconstruction).
- Family planning and abortion (IVG) (for issues concerning contraception, sexually transmitted infections, and voluntary termination of pregnancy).
